In this destination you will be visiting the Orinoquia region of Colombia also known as the Eastern Plains (Llanos Orientales). The plains are vast tropical grasslands situated at the east of the Andes in northwestern South America (Colombia and Venezuela). The main river is the Orinoco. This region includes most of the area of the departments of Meta, Arauca, Casanare and Vichada. The region is rich in oil and suitable for extensive ranching but sparsely populated. Its geography is characterized by elevations that never exceed 200 meters above sea level (656 ft).
The average temperature in this region is 30 °C (86 °F) and the rainfall ranges from 1,500 mm to 3.500 mm.
The plains are areas full of magic. Its inhabitants are special people who know many legends of the region and are characterized by their kindness and hard working capacity.
